Recently, an Overwatch player by the name of DougJuggler posted up a complaint on the Blizzard Forums stating Blizzard banned them from merely following protocol and reporting problematic players, before calling out the studio for not looking at any reports. In a textbook case of karmic justice, a Blizzard customer service person responded by stating that DougJuggler had not been banned for reporting others, but had in fact been banned for being a nuisance themselves.
To highlight the justification behind the ban, the Blizzard customer service person also posted up a recent transcript of the times where DougJuggler was using abusive language towards other players while in an Overwatch game. Needless to say, Blizzard called DougJugger’s bluff and showed that the customer service team do in fact look at all complaints and reports.

This certainly isn’t the first time Blizzard has shamed a troll, and given that the studio have been very clear in the past that Overwatch cheaters will be banned, it should go without saying that disruptive players won’t be given any leniency either.
Hopefully this incident will serve as a warning for players that cheating isn’t the only thing Blizzard is looking at, and that problematic behaviour will also not be tolerated. Just to reinforce how serious Blizzard is taking this issue in the push for fair play, there will be some harsh punishments for those who rage quit out of Overwatch’s upcoming competitive play mode.
One thing is for sure, when Overwatch’s competitive play is launched, gamers may want to think twice before attempting to lie and cheat their way out of trouble.
