The online featured mode is accessible to anyone with online memberships of their respective consoles, challenging players around the world to assemble a team of the best possible NBA pros and put them up against other teams. 2K Games continues to make a tremendous effort to get the online mode in NBA 2K22 to be a staple in the gaming industry, and it appears to be paying off.

Season 6: Zero Gravity introduced a new group of 40 additional levels for players to progress through while the season lasts, challenging players to complete a multitude of new quests in order to obtain various prizes and rewards. This season’s Level 40 reward was announced as a Bunny Suit, which was seen as a step-down from last season’s Dark Matter prize, but a fun perk to earn nonetheless. As reported by Floki5000, a Partnered Influencer of 2K Games and NBA 2K22, over 1,000 players have reached the level-40 plateau, becoming the largest group to do so since the game’s launch.

In an official tweet sponsored by 2K Games, Floki5000 reveals an image featuring all 1,000-plus players who hit Level 40 during the Season 6: Zero Gravity event. In a combined effort, including 601 Twitter users and 464 Reddit users, it’s the largest group of NBA 2K22 players to hit the highest level in MyTeam. When Floki5000 started tracking the number of users who reached Level 40 in a single season, it involved content creators from his community and amounted to 40 players in total during the inaugural MyTeam season. In the span of five seasons, that number has grown exponentially, from under 100 players to well-over 1,000.

It’s a major success for both NBA 2K22 and 2K Games to see such a large amount of players invested in the online mode thriving and punching their ticket to the top of the charts. Despite being four months away from being a year old, NBA 2K22 is still enjoyed by nearly two million players every day. On top of the action, the game continues to roll out quality units, such as the recent Invincible Shaq and Galaxy Opal Grant Hill. The basketball franchise may be in line for a new installment in the near future, but for now players are as engaged in NBA 2K22 as they were since its launch last September.

NBA 2K22 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
