Choices for New Among Us Modes
Among Us fans have found a lot of ways to innovate on the game without modifying it. One of them is the Gauntlet minigame. The Gauntlet pits one Crewmate against one Impostor in multiple rounds of gameplay. While all the other players wait in the spawn, one Crewmate races to complete their task before the Impostor hunting them can kill them. If the Crewmate succeeds, they get to call an emergency meeting and eject the Impostor. Innersloth could improve this as a built-in Among Us gamemode by letting the Impostors and Crewmates fly around the map as ghosts, spectating each round of the Gauntlet.
Innersloth should still look at Among Us mods to inspire new gamemodes, though. For instance, one player mod offered Among Us a zombie game mode. Rather than Impostors killing off Crewmates, they’d infect them, slowly amassing more numbers to overwhelm the Crewmates with, much like real-life zombie tag or Halo’s famous Infection mode. A zombie mode would be pretty easy to integrate into Among Us, simply converting players into ‘Impostors’ when they get killed. It could balance the challenge by slowing down the zombie player, but letting them spawn into the map in surprising places to get the ball rolling.

More Ways to Play Among Us Matter
Admittedly, there’s a lot of fan-favorite Among Us modes that would be hard to build directly into the game. For instance, proximity chat is a very popular mod that only works for voice chat. While Among Us could add something similar like proximity text chat, it doesn’t have built-in voice channels, nor does it look like it will anytime soon. These modes might not translate directly into easy development for Innersloth, but they should still serve as sources of inspiration. New ways to play Among Us are crucial to keeping the game alive. Its core gameplay loop is fun, but too simple to stay surprising after all these months of Among Us hype.
Adding Hide And Seek to Among Us is a good sign for the game’s future. Innersloth is historically good at community engagement, and adding Hide And Seek alongside other demanded features like 15 player Among Us lobbies suggests that the engagement has paid off. Innersloth pays attention to what fans like to do in Among Us and wants to help them do that. If Innersloth keeps up the indicated habit of paying attention to the wishes of Among Us fans, it’ll open up a lot of doors for the game’s future.
